Wordless

Some days I want to write something profound,
something that connects to the core of humankind.
I want to say beautiful things that ring with truth,
things that will echo from the unexplored depths of my being.
But when I finally sit down, pen and paper in hand,
and attempt to unravel the tangled thoughts
I find nothing,
nothing but silence with all its unanswerable questions
and all its good intentions.
I find I really have nothing left to say and
that what my spirit truly wants is the quiet,
the retreat inward,
the healing calm of the dark wordless places.
I find that my creativity has been spent
on a hundred other things besides my unspoken longings
and until something bright and new begins to blossom
I must be satisfied with
the holy silence and the
sacred emptiness.

I don't know of anyone who can say "I can't find the words today" as beautifully and creatively as you do!

Respect the silence...it's all part of the creative process.

"the holy silence and the
sacred emptiness."
.. the song, the fullness, the blossom waiting to bloom.
Perfectly put dear one!

Very well put. I often feel this way and yet, feel compelled to write something for my blog. You put this in words beautifully, as always.

Even when you can't find the words you still sound beautiful!

The psalms were David's (among others) attempts to understand God, to cry out to Him, to sing, to show their joy in Him, their lack of understanding and foolishness. Welcome to the world of words.

Even when you have nothing to say you say it beautifully. Sometimes it is good to be quiet and still and just listen and take in what is around us.

I hear what you are saying.
Through out the day I always have ideas for posts. I get excited...but the execution part takes longer. It is difficult to consistantly find the time and energy to say what I really want to say on my blog. (I suppose I could spend even more time creating art and at the computer, but then E and M would really be watching cartoon all day!) Sometimes I just grab my journal and record the thoughts and sometimes I just start reading blogs and express myself through comments...

It's just the other side of the coin. The hardest to really sit with and listen too but loaded with juicy stuff if you do.

Ooooo I love all your blossom photos. There is something about the first signs of spring that leave me wordless and yet yearning to speak of the beauty.
