SPT {Time-1}

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be silent and a time to speak.
Ecclesiastes 3:1,7b NIV

In the silence I understand...
everything I need for this life is here, right here, within reach, resting in the palm of my hand

there are questions without answers, mysteries without explanations

I have pieces, tender and fragile, which sometimes break apart but always find their wholeness again

I have places, deep and unseen, in which I am larger than I could ever dream possible and I want to live from those places

I'm always doing my best and sometimes my best isn't quite enough

I can trust the spirit within for that spirit is divinity in its most holy and precious form

there are things in life that are unforgivable and I must live with that

the shoulds, the can'ts, the won'ts will always be there, raising their voices, begging to be heard, but I can live with their terrible shouts

life is continually cycling about--I have been here before, I will be here again, it's all good

there is so much I don't understand and sitting on that edge of uncertainty is scary and risky and normal

emptiness isn't a treat, it's a holy blessing, a healing breath

the quietness is life getting ready to blossom and bloom, it is the letting go before the resurrection

silence has its place in the sacred scheme of life

yes. i believe that in the silence (and sometimes this might mean in the sadness) we are able to listen to whispers of our soul. able to hear our dreams, our needs, our hopes. i hope that your moments of silence bring you what you need. blessings to you.

This is a beautiful anthem. (Isn't "anthem" a great word?) Especially like the line about deep unseen places within -- love it. Expansive, impossible, huge & wild places that lurk within us all, like rainforests as yet unbreached by man, filled with species yet undiscovered. We're full of new discoveries waiting to happen. Our whole lives, we'll never run out of mysteries! ("Mystery" is another great word, one of my favorites -- not in the murder-mystery sense, but the mysteries of the universe sense!)

Also, cute picture!

Thanks for reminding me that in my rush for words, sometimes its best to just sit and let the silence work its healing for a time.

Beautiful post.

This is brilliant. What wonderful words to read this morning. SARK always talks about embracing the dark and light of who we are, I love how you've captured this. What beautiful words, thank you.

Thank you for another beautiful post!!

These two lines really spoke to me,
"I have places, deep and unseen, in which I am larger than I could ever dream possible and I want to live from those places

I'm always doing my best and sometimes my best isn't quite enough"

They are like the yin and yang aren't they?? I feel like they speak to where I am right now...feeling not good enough but wanting to trust that part of myself that is greater.

Beautiful, thank you!
