In Response to a Proverb

If the sky falls,
hold up your hands.

Spanish Proverb

And so I will.
I will catch the stars in the palms of my hands.
I'll lock the clouds in a fierce embrace,
wrapping my body in a blanket of blue,
pulling it close and holding it dearly.
I will cradle the sun and swallow the moon,
I'll let the birds find a nest in my heart.
I'll let the heaviness strengthen my shoulders
and the darkness offer me its wisdom.
I'm willing to let the sky's frailty teach me to honor the wounds
of all humankind.
I'll slather myself in the thick mist of the atmosphere
and let the sweetness of the heavens absorb into the pores of my skin.
I'll stand, feet planted firmly on the Earth, and tenderly welcome my sister into my arms.

*I hope you're not growing tired of my blossom pics. I can't help myself. I'm smitten*

Beautiful words. As for your blossoms...they remind me of a great quote by Anais Nin: " And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." Here's to your photographs and in our lives.
