Totally Blissed Out

Because of a rough, emotional Friday and a Saturday spent recovering, cleaning, and shopping, I decided I needed a day packed with so much bliss my heart could hardly stand it. So yesterday was the day, the day for totally blissing out. To start the day Britton and I took a little drive in the drizzle for a photo date. We'd drive until I found something I wanted to photograph then I'd pull to the side of the road, take a few pics, and we'd head off again. The photo featured above is my favorite from the excursion. Once home we dragged dad out of bed and made peanut butter balls...

1 cup peanut butter
3/4 cup powdered milk
3 Tbl honey
mix all together and roll into balls

Then I slipped away for a matinee of Walk the Line which I loved. I thought Joaquin Phoenix was fantastic and I was reminded of how much I love Johnny Cash's music. When I returned Britton was napping so I crawled into bed as well and had a fabulous 2 hour nap. It was one of those totally restful naps, comfortable and warm, all the good things a nap is famous for. Then we spent the evening relaxing, blogging, and watching The Incredibles (again!). After Britton was asleep Trey gave me a few lessons on my camera. He's the real photographer of the family. I'm an amateur with an eager heart. He taught me about white balance and it has greatly improved my indoor, flash-free photos. And that was my blissed out day in a nutshell. And it was incredibly healing...giving myself the gift of bliss healed my wounded heart. I need to make a point of blissing out more often.

Today was a very packed day for me. It is late and I haven't even put the kids to bed. I need as blissed out day, but I don't think one is coming soon so I will vicariously live through you for a moment....well, a huge breath and I will now pick the stickers off the speakers that Maggie felt compelled to decorate with. (I really love that photo and I am happy that you are feeling better since I last checked in on Friday)

How wonderful. And the photo is fantastic. It reminds me of the spit bugs we get on brances here in the spring. Is it cotton?

Wonderful image! as usual, you really have a serious talent for photography...Im jealous! lol I have to rely on photoshop to help me out! ;0)
Speaking of Mr. Cash...when I was 3 my mother said that I would watch his show on tv(so very long ago...late 60's) with my cowboy boots on and say that I was going to marry him when I grew up.
Well, I didnt marry him.
But I still love him anyway.

i'm grateful that you shared this bliss day with us... you have a good influence on me... i need to give myself "permission" to do a bliss day. i plow through life with my head down and shoulder to the wheel most of the time and sort of "punishing" others who don't share my dilligence or focus on practicallity. i need to make more room for joy. especially when it comes to my son. thanks for the gentle reminder.

What a great thing you did for yourself. Sometimes the sprit does need a bit of refreshing and from your recent posts, you definitely needed it. Your family is in my thoughts.

The picture gorgeous of course! It took me a bit to figure out it was cotton (is that right?) we don't have anything like that in the desert!
