SPT {Reflections-2}

Quiet, reserved, together,
a bit withdrawn,
prim, proper, composed,
but underneath,
where it matters most,
in the beautiful secret places,
is a gypsy spirit
longing to howl at the moon,
dance naked under the stars,
make love all night,
toss my tangled hair in the wind,
twirl until my skirts rise above my head,
run through the woods with abandon,
paint my face with the mud of the earth,
stretch my arms to embrace the sky,
and live the wildness that boils just beneath the surface.
She's there,
waiting for those magical moments
in which she can burn.

Oh let her dance, Gypsy Heart. Don't make her hide until she gets lost in some deep cavern and she can't hear you calling for her anymore! It's also much harder to coax her out when she gets used to hiding her face.

Be wild! Be daring! Be bold! Your words ALWAYS are. I LOVE "but underneath, where it matters most..." I love that!

And live on, dancing, loving, twirling through life. Live on, blazing through each day with a fire that can never be extinguished. Live on, howling at the moon and dancing naked under the stars. It's the only way to live.

This post brought back a memory I hadn't recalled in decades. When I was 19 (see, I told you...decades) I was chatting with an acquaintance (we barely knew each other) and he suddenly said, "You're like a boiling pot of water...the lid's on, so on the surface everything looks cool and calm...but underneath?...look out!" And I thought, "How does he KNOW?!" I'll bet your wild woman isn't nearly as hidden as you think she is. ;) Although I agree with Rebekah that there can be great power in unleashing her...I'm also familiar with the power contained in keeping her hidden. Not out of repression...out of a desire to use her for empowerment. My wild woman is like a power plant inside me...she FUELS me...and sometimes I delight in keeping her workings hidden. Or maybe I just delight in blowing people's expectations out of the water when they least expect it. ;)

But you as prim and proper? I can't imagine. :)
