How I Spent My Weekend

watching too many mindless hours of television including the Knotts Landing reunion, reruns of Sex in the City and CSI, Serendipity (again), various ridiculous countdowns on VH1, Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy...doing a little bit of reading...babysitting my nephew, Corbin...organizing my cds and as a result locating some I thought I had lost forever...drinking many an invisible cup of coffee made by Britton...washing every scrap of laundry available...enjoying (sort of) a two hour grocery shopping excursion...downloading and organizing my favorite pics of 2005 in my Flickr account...

In other words, dear friends, I spent my weekend doing everything humanly possible to successfully avoid rummaging through the garage for the Christmas decorations...Bah-Humbug...

that's okay, if i had to go all the way out to the garage i wouldn't get them either.

Serendipity can distract anyone from anything! We spent all weekend looking at our decorations strewn about all over our coffee table...waiting for a home on the tree. It's a process...sometimes a long one, on our case! Good luck!

PS My God-son's name is Corbin!

I've been ignorning Christmas decorations so far this year too, but I suspect that's easier to do with no kids in the house. ;-)

I am chuckling at this. I love the lights on the tree now that we have it up, but I hate that the boxes from the ornaments are still hanging out in the middle of the living room floor. Too cold to take them back out to the garage! (and wasn't grey's anatomy good last night - I love that show!!)

I love that movie Serendipity (yeah John Cusack!!). It was filmed right around the corner from our old NYC apartment because that's where that store Seredipity actually is.

For some reason, I'm really into Christmas this year....maybe because I know they are possibly coming to an end? (when I convert!!)

Gee, and I couldn't wait to get a tree...but only because I'm like a slack-jawed dope when the lights get turned on. Even so, I couldn't find where I'd put our Xmas box when we moved in here...and I didn't feel like digging through the (cold) off I went to Wal-Mart for some inexpensive decorations. I'll look for it next summer...when it's warm. And besides, sometimes new stuff is fun. ;)

I LOVE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!!! I was all too eager to get them up this year. But - it sounds like your weekend was fun anyway. I love bad weekend TV.

That is so funny, I sort of know what you mean, I'm locating where all the decorations are in my mind, now I just have to make my body go and get them.

I love cathedral style churches-this is a beautiful picture.
As for decorating-Bah!
Luckily my hubbie is the one who likes it and does it.

I was so in the mood for the decorations this year. Now I can't seem to find the motivation these days either. Perhaps a nice green apple martini would help...

Beautiful picture. I think I am going to forgo some of the all-out over-decorating I tend to do and lean toward white candles. Oh but they're all scented vanilla and that much vanilla could be overwhelming - or maybe intoxicating. All the better.

i mutinied against traditional christmas decorations
instead i filled tiered curio shelves
with every icon of compassion, love and enlightenment i could find around the house
jesus, buddha, quan yin, mother teresa, ghandi, hearts, candles are all dancing together
joyously celebrating spirits like yours
and all other thoughtful bloggers in the universe

haha it's amazing how many ways we can distract ourselves when we put our minds to it. I wouldn't worry about it, drinking invisible cups of coffee sounds like a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. :)
