Inspiring

Tonight, I'm lighting a candle for all the women who inspire me, whose very presence in this world has led me to live out loud, push beyond my limits, speak my truth, honor my spirit, love to the fullest, create from the center of my being, think outside the box, and demand fullness. Here are just a few of them...

Thanks for the compliment. I love the Self Portrait series. It's always making me think. To add to your list?
My best friend, my grandmothers and great-grandmothers, Ellen Gilchrist, Audrey Hepburn, assorted bloggers whose willingness and ability to examine their lives and share their thoughts honestly and completely is amazing to me.

I'd have to say my daughter Emily. Though she's not yet a full grown woman, she's well on her way and when I look at her I see the woman she's becoming and I feel weak in the knees with admiration.

One that I haven't seen mentioned is Miles Franklin - she wrote under a masculine name (real name: Sarah Miles Franklin) in order to get published in the early 1900s. She wrote "My Brilliant Career". Also Catherine Hamlin, who wrote "The Hospital By The River" - about a fistula clinic in Kenya (a true, inspirational story). Two extraordinarily inspirational and strong women!!

Many on your list (unsuprisingly, as it seems we have many things in common), as well as: The Blessed Mother, my Mom, St. Rita of Cassica (my patron saint-saint of lost causes), my Great Aunts, Martha Stewart (I admire her business savvy and try to develop that part of myself-I do not think she is a tender person whatsoever, and think I could teach her a thing or two in that department...It would be a "good thing").
