Equinox

Welcome Autumn,
you flirty, fickle girl,
entering the month with a meandering elegance,
living out the last days of a year just like any passionate full hearted crone would,
wearing your vivid earth tones and dropping your skirts to your knees,
unashamed and unbashful.
Oh how I love your cooler days, your longer nights,
perfect for cuddling with the ones you love,
perfect for spending some final moments with sweet nature,
before she takes her final bow and
your coldhearted sister comes rushing in on your heels,
with her bitter bite and touch of death,
leaving us with a mournful heart and a longing for new life,
a holy resurrection,
full of green and growth.

Love your photos and musings so much... I'm becoming a regular visitor. I love the way you celebrate the sweetness of life and in that way you invite the rest of us to savor it as well. Thanks for the daily lift.

You certainly have a way with words; I, also am becoming a regular visitor. Love what you said about your grandmother - really touched home as my 95 year old grandmother died August 26.
